transmission weirdness
Guys,
Just had the fluid in my transmission "swapped" by the machine at Valvoline.
Since, I'm getting excessive slippage, especially when the transmission is cold.
The transmission will sort of lose gear, almost like its free spinning, and then eventually catch and the car lurches forward.
Based on the description, do you guys think this is a sensor which got gummed up by the cleaning, or slippage due to the new fluid?
Do you think this can be fixed by adding some friction modifier, or by some method other than rebuilding the transmission?
Thanks!

you should'nt of done a flush. its always better to do a drain and refill. The fluid that you had in your tranny before had some stuff that made your clutches grave better, now that you have new fluid in the tranny, its slipping cus there is nothing for the clutches to grab on to.

167k miles on this tranny. I've seen people go deep into the 200's on this tranny as long as it's taken care of. I've taken care of it, but it's possible the previous owner did not.
I am going to try a new filter, drain and refill, and maybe add some of this Lucas Transmission Fix, http://lucasoil.hodgsoncorp.com/slip...ansmission.htm
