The stock Nakamichi amp in my '93 GS is blown. The replacements are really expensive, so I'm considering replacing it with an aftermarket amp. I've done really basic stereo stuff before, but I'm no pro by any means. I've been reading around the forums and have pieced together some info, but I still have a few questions:

1) What type of amp will I need to get? Are there certain specs I need to match up? I also need to get something that will fit in the stock spot or that I can mount without too much of a headache.

2) How involved is the install, and what do I need to know? I know the stock amp has clips that just snap in and you're done. I'm assuming I'd have to splice those out and hook them up to certain spots on the aftermarket amp? Is this a huge headache?

Thanks guys. Trying to decide what to do here, but really need some tunes in the GS ASAP!

You will probably need a high/low converter to do it. It won't sound nearly as good as it would with a proper head unit.
