anyone used LUCAS in transmission???
My car has almost 230 000 miles and my tranny shifts smooth. I change transmission fluid every 10 000 miles with toyota T-IV fluid but this time while I change the fluid I would like to add bottle of LUCAS also. Can it hurt??? I just like to take care of my tranny with so many miles. Should I add it or should I stick only to drain and fill.

Your tranny shows no signs of malfunction and you have an established service regimen (most would say excessive. 50k is plenty frequent for a trans flush). Why would you want to introduce an additive? What property are you trying to improve? I don't like the notion of adding viscosity modifiers unless there is a specified goal in mind.

The LUCAS is a last resort in most cases, intended to stop slips, rough shifting & seal leaks. With you not having any of those symptoms, I see no reason to go there. You've went as far as to always use Toyota fluid and meticulously drain & refill, don't mess with your routine!

I don't know about the Lucas stuff. I check my trans fluid at every oil change and, if it looks dirty, I drain and refill it. No functional issues on this trans at 167K miles.
