THey have been proven to hold 1000rwhp....just not very long. I remember reading about a guy who ran his car for two seasons on 1000hp before he finally bent a stock rod. But that is VERY dependent on tune and TONS of other variables. I am just going to run these until I blow it up, then have my built motor ready to swap in.

Ok, I have to say I am amused that SuprRunner is at 916 rwhp and this is not even his built motor. Nice numbers!

I do have some JE pistons, but the rods are the weak link, not the pistons. I did however use ARP rod bolts, but again, the actual ROD is the weakest part of the stock 2J motor IF you don't detonate. I only added the pistons to pevent breaking due to detonation. The pistons are actually hurting me HP wide and I would have run more with less boost on stock pistons. Car sounded 100% better with the High compression too. The original #6 had some pitting from a foreign object so I just replaced them all with spare USED parts I had laying around.

I'm also gonna be running .20 over je pistons with stock rods and arp rod bolts. Why do you say you would make more power with the stock pistons?

Higher compression. Better thermal efficiency. Boost would aslo come on much sooner.

I remember the first time I started my car with the X-trim wheel and 272's on 9.3:1. It sounded awsome. The pressure coming from the exhaust was insane even at idle. I had to pull the motor apart shortly after that due to a BHG(from welding on head and not resurfacing) and put it back together with the 8.5:1 pistons. So now I am at like 8.3:1 and possibly lower. The exhaust not is VERY LAZY now and doesn't sound near as good.

My race motor will be 11.5:1.
