Default Transmission woes

Its been a while since Ive posted here, been so busy, I see everyones still doing their thing though.
Well, its winter, and now my cars decided to start making some strange noises. I know its the transmission, its making a winding noise, when I start the car, when I give it throttle. Im worried, and I know I should be, but what do you guys think I should do, just take it and have someone start rebuilding, or maybe just drain and refill? I drained and refilled the trans last year, and its been running great since then, and now that its gotten cold here, its started making this noise. Any advice would be appreciated.

Edit: Theres nothing else wrong with it, ohter than the noise, its not shaking, its not slipping, nothing, just making the noise.

I had that noise that you describe; after the car warms up it goes away, right? Mine was the stator eating through both my TC and tranny. Not trying to scare you, but I wouldn't delay and "pray" that it goes away. It doesn't..........

And mine wasn't shaking or slipping either. But I could hear it when I pulled in at drive-thru's; the sound would be reflected off of the building.

So what was causing the noise?
