Aristo parts equivalent.

Aristo parts equivalent.
Hello, I have a 95 aristo and am looking to get the struts and brake cylinder replaced. So far here they quote me 150,000 yen (around 1500 dollars) per strut, to me that is insane and I am still waiting for the quote on the brake cylinder. I have been looking for other ways to get parts here but they don't have my vehicle configuration in the states (pretty much a GS300 with ther JZGTE twin turbo engine from the supra). I can get the supra struts or the GS300 struts, however I know my engine is heavier than the regular 3.0 from the GS300 and I have heard that the supra struts will be too short. Does anybody know which struts to buy? Oh by the way I am stationed in Okinawa, Japan (not a chance of me going out of town to get a better price). Thank you for the help in advance.

I didn't think so either. I even tried a junkyard near my house but they only had struts for the NA aristo and the guy wouldn't sell them to me. I thought about buying them from the States, do you still it would be worth it?

WTF ?
The difference in weight would be handled by the springs. Has nothing to do with the struts other than valving in dampen and rebound.
The weight difference is negligable. The mkiv supra struts dont fit.
Just do aftermarket non adjustable struts and be done with it. Or do teins with an edfc if your concerened about it.
EDIT: FWIW I didnt even pay 1500 for my flex w/edfc in the US. I cant imagine that it would cost more than that in JDM land.

kensGS300, the cockpit adjustable springs your talking about, aren't like airbags
when you put the tranny switch to ECT on some models, it stiffens the ride, to give it a more aggressive stance to say. if the car has TEMS, you can raise and lower it, by using that switch, but it's not by much,
to the orginal poster, i would say get a used pair of Tein coilovers all around, should run you around 80,000 YEN off yahoo japan

Either that or a hks hipermax setup (more comfy than tein) or ohlins if you are crazy into tracking.
Toyota had oem sport package with bilstein dampers on aristo in japan. Knowing how well bilestein setups preform on similarly size/weight german cars (ie m5), 7 series, I'm sure it will be a god street/sport combo setup.
Also, jdm spec coilovers sometimes have more aggresseive setup than the same model in export trim
