What do you mean by diagnal off the main hoop?

Other than the bent rear support, I modeled it off of another car built by an NHRA tech.

As for the rear support, there is nothing said about then not being able to be bent. If I can't, I will just change them to go straight.

I forget the name of the seats, I will get the name later on today.

i built my cage to D1GP, and Formula Drift specs.. which are based off SCCA anyway. the main hoop in my sanction needs to have a diagonal, from right over the drivers head to the bottom of the hoop on the passenger side. All other bars need to be notched into that. your cage looks strong, but just noticing that. in all probablilty it is not a requirement for you.

yeah, just looking at a bunch of cages online. All the road type cages have a diagonal along with other cross braces. 8 point NHRA cage does not need it.

Do you have a picture of your door braces? I am noticing my elbow is hitting, and I can't have it go out more or I won't be able to put the door trim back on. I suppose it is legal to bend it, but not really sure. I will probably also move the seat slightly closer to the trans tunnel to increase that clearance.

i need to finish the X's for my doors. no pix as of yet, but I will tell you this and you can figure it out based on yours.

My main hoop is attached 7" in front of the riser for the rear seat area.. looks similar location to yours.

The main bar for my door X is attached to the hoop at 15" from the floor, and drops to meet with the front leg at the floorplate.

I'm using a Sparco Evo competition seat and I structured the door bars to allow easy in and out and no obstruction once i'm in the seat.

i'll try and get some pix for you.

My hoop is 9" from the rear support, but it angles back so the attachment point of the front bar is about 7" from the rear.

But my bar is 25". 10" higher than yours. From the rules, it needs to be that high. It can't be more than 4" lower than my shoulder...I wonder if that is the mount point, or as it crosses the shoulder....hmm.

no specification on the height of my door Xs, it is open, i could have done NASCAR style door bars if i chose to. i have a slight rear tilt on my hoop also.

Mine isn't for drift, mine is for the straight away, hence the different rollcages.

I plan on having the quickest 1G GS in the nation. Maybe the world...haha

and mine is down about 500hp, and designed to step out when accelerating in a straight line. Would be awesome to see them side by side though when finished.. 2 purpose built machines for entirely different purposes.

I just plan on being the best 1st gen drifter out there.. not hard though b/c there are very few i'm aware of.

Seats are Hunsaker, the cheapy ones. They are pretty close to the same poly seats you can buy from summit for around $50 each.

That was BMPC and they wrecked it last year or the year before. From the vid it looks like they blew the tires off and then hit the wall.

This is sort of related to the comment made about the 1st 1GEN GS drifting.. I was at DriftAtlanta a couple weeks ago and saw a flat black GS on a trailer that was evidently there the first day (that i wasnt at) .. anyone know of this?

I didnt compete in FD or the Pro-AM (this year) but I towed the car down for a local event the day after in Atlanta.
