LS400 brake upgrade? i dont know it my wheels are hi-disk of low-disk.... thanks for aynones input on these...
Its actually the disk that will matter the most when fitting a BBK.

usually you would need a HIGH disk, there should be a stamp of some sort on the rear wheel..and a letter will tell you if its high/low or med..but I dont know what letter coresponds with what disk.

sorry not much help...i hope that someone will be able to tell.

i'm just reviving this, as i've got a couple questions

will 16" stock rims clear it with a spacer? or do you need a min. of 17" rim?

Yes, you have to fit spacers to clear the stock 16" wheels but they do fit. I've had to throw them back on a couple times to swap tires out on the 18's, and you've got to use spacers for the stock wheels to clear the side of the caliper.

This is the only other picture I have right now with the wheels:

so the 16's will fit diameter wise? it's just the offset you need to play with?

that doesn't make sense, seeing how the diamter of stock breaks on the 16's barely clear.

the diamter of rotor is larger, and my caliper almost scrapes the sides of the 16's

what size spacer needs to go on?
can you post a picture showing the 16" wheel on the car?

I can't actually. The car is at home in Texas and I am in the middle east for another two months. I don't remember what size spacers we had to use, maybe 20 or 25mm. The stock 16" wheels we have are the chrome 8 spoke types, diameter wise they fit just fine around the brakes. Like I said I've had to put them on a few times in the interim.

No not those wheels, we have the uglier ones with more 'body' in the middle. These:

And yes, hub centric bolt on spacers is the ONLY type of spacer I ever use.

hmmm, i'll have to put my spare tire on some time, as my spare is exactly like that. I can't see there being any difference.

i don't see how they fit, that's unreal

what year did the LS400 have these brakes on them? i'm more up to date on my JDM specs than USDM

Bumping this up. Here is my problem. I have bled my brakes a thousand times and I cannot get pressure in the brakes. I had a whole new set up. It went on decently well, but I cannot get the brakes to get pressure when the car is on and pulling a vacuum. When the car is off and there is no vacuum I get good pressure. I bled each caliper (including the back ones) 3 times, made sure there was no air in the lines. I dunno what else to do other than put the stock stuff back on :/
