Default The Unknown with Aristo Swap

I need some help sorting out my swap. I am now in a position to make some more changes, but before I do that I need to understand what I have.

I purchased the car with an Aristo swap into a 1993 GS300. I am pretty sure it was engine and tranny. First thing I would like to figure out is if I do have an Aristo tranny.

Second thing I would like to figure out is what kind of rear end do I have. I am pretty sure it has the rear end that came with the car. My thoughts are this is not ideal, for performance or longevity.

Can anyone help me with some pointers on identifying what I have and if I am correct with the assumption of the stock rear end hurting my performance due to gearing.

Thanks

for the tranny jack up the car and on the tranny housing it will say A3 for a aristo tranny or A2 for a stock 2jzge tranny. As for the rear diff im in the same boat as you. Wish i could help and in for the anwser.

i have been running on the same stock rear gear for 6 yrs now.. 3 of them turbo'd and now it is a drift race car only.. still stock gearing. an LSD will help a ton with traction though. I'm running a Kaaz 2 way, but for the street I recommend a 1.5 way. Kaaz, ATS, Tomei.. all have them for the JZS147 chassis.

the tranny is easy.. the GS has a kickdown cable, the Aristo is hydraulic (no cable coming off the throttle body. I'm almost 100% certain that you have an Aristo trans.

Whose car did you buy? Chris's? one of Sonny or Phong's? You around Columbia or that area? I'm in Myrtle Beach.

I don't even remember the guys name. Got it from some dude off of carolina rides from Columbia.

So you are saying the gear is fine. How much for a 1.5 limited?

It is hydraulic.

you'll have to shop around for an LSD.. usually about 800-900.00 the Aristo was also available with a Torsen rear diff too they are rare but can be found.

So will something like this work on my Gs300?

JZA80 Torsion LSD Supra 2JZGTE Soarer Chaser Aristo

If so how much power will it handle without abuse.
