Default Air Vent Question?

I had a quick question for everyone... Is there supposed to be some kind of memory in the car for whether the vents are open or closed?? because when I shut my car off and turn it back on the vents always reset to the open position.

so if im driving with the vents set to the off position and I get out for work or something. As soon as I return to the vehicle they reset to the on position.

Im jus wondering because I recently installed a new deck into my car and im thinking it could be a wire I cut and maybe need to connect again.

if anyone has any info on what it could be or if something similar has happened I would greatly appreciate it.

thanks again

It depends on what your temperature is set at. Try setting the temperature to 65(then turning it off) and closing the air vent before you shut off the car. When you start it back up, it should still be closed.

I find that the vent automatically open if the outside temperature is lower than what I set the thermometer to.
