Default Tranny Issues

Seems this might be the topic of the week.

I am experiencing an issue on the downshift from 2nd to 1st, only when the car hasn't been warmed up. If I drive for let's say an estimated 17 - 20 miles, in other words from my home to work, the issue doesn't occur.

My issue is a very firm downshift.

I think it has something to do with a temperature sensor, on another board they suggested a flush and refill which doesn't make sense to me. Seems when the car is cold the ECM is telling the tranny to do something to the pressure.

Are there any psudo tranny experts in the house that might help me diagnose this issue.

Thanks!

the temp sensor is on the front line going into the tranny i believe.. at least it looks like it would be a temp sensor when you remove it. check the plug.. possible that it may be the same as aristo.. you do have a 2jzgte right? if memory serves me.

also do a good search over on SupraForums. Almost the same tranny in the mk4tt supra and the Aristo.
