Simple poll really.

It seems generally agreed upon that 19-20" wheels are the right size for our cars in terms of look and fitment. What do you think and why? Pics always welcome

IMO, im all for 19's, with the right offset right stance, it looks hot, dont get me wrong though, there are a few running 20's that look good, but 19's do it for me, shameless plug....

for me i'm planning on setting up my car to be athletic, a drivers car either than a crusier. my last two cars where BMW's so it has definitely taken some getting use to as far as driving feel and response goes. i can't wait to lower this thing but back to the wheels, i still haven't decided if i'm gonna run 19's all round or 18 up front 19 rear for that subtle aggressive look.

Unless you have some really slammed suspension, I wouldnt go over 19, Our cars kinda loose the aggressive look with big rims and stock suspension. With Springs Id go with 18 x 8's.

I've always felt the GS is to large to wear 18 wheels. Aesthetically IMHO 20s look best. But 19s are the best compromise with nice aggressive offsets.

19's look just right for the 1st gen. 20's are too big IMO but they look alright on the 2nd gens.

Default wheels

i was planing on getting 19 but imo their too small unless ur gonna drop ur car w coilovers and plan to go real low no matter 19 or 20 if u tuck ur tire in its gonna look good ofcourse w/ the right offset. but imo id go w 20 because u can go low and look good w out destroying the **** out of ur car and angeling just gets old sometimes

I personally think a nice set of 18's with the proper offset sets the car off. You can still get a decent tire on it that'll look good but give you a decent ride. 20's IMO are too much and actually end up lifting the car abit even with a 35 profile. I could see myself going with a slick set of 19's though, I've actually been very tempted.

I think 19" are the best for the 1st Gen GS. 20" is a little overkilled eventhough my co-worker have 20" on his. 20" need to be deep dish and really lowered so that it hug the fenders well in order for it to look decent. If not, most 20" that I've seen look too high and too big for our car even if it is lowered. If you really want a clean look, don't even try 18" because no matter how hard you try, 18" still look too small, even if you lowered it. The reason I know because I've try, factory 17" 2nd Gen GS 5 spokes, L-Tuned 18" Salinas and both look too small for the GS. My current set up is 19" Volk Racing SF challenge and it look perfect.

Anyone have a pic of some 18s on the 1GS?

I've seen a few in person with 20s that look way too big for me and always thought the 18s would be just right.

Yeah, I have to agree with you suprawhite, the 19s are a much better look. After seeing that, I have to choose new wheels. They only make the ones I wanted in 18s and 20s.
