Look up http://www.modularturbo.com
They sell great turboes for an excellent price and have good customer service.
I'd say go with something like :
T61 .68 AR / for good street driving, quick spool and power close to 500 rwhp range.
T64 .68
T70
etc.

the chaser engine came twin, so really the question should be, what turbos are they :P
but you saying, what upgrade is best. well there are MANY options, anything from USDM twins, to large single, and talking about PSI you wanna run, means **** all.
if you get a large single, you only need to run something like 8PSI to get the same power the twins put out at 18PSI.
dont' base your turbo upgradeo nthe PSI you wanna run, that's ****ing retarded. base your turbo upgrade on your budget and the POWER you wanna put down

if yours are stock, they should be the normal CT12A twins. where as the 2JZ got the CT12B in USDM's and CT20's were in the JDM 2JZ's if i recall right.
depending on the year, yes they did come single turbo, but only with a CT15B? i think?? something like that.
it should still be ceramic

as I stated above, the VVTI engines are single turbo not twins. Non VVTI engines were twins and ran ct12 ceramic blade turboes which were un-reliable by the time it reached our shores.
The VVTI chaser engines comes with one CT15B turbo.

If I can chime in, the CT26 is what came stock on my 7mgte before I got rid of it. I would not push more than 12-14psi unless you rebuild it and put a 57 trim wheel in it.
www.supramania.com has tons of info on the 1jzgte motors. My friend has one in his 91 Mkiii and it is a beautiful thing Fun as hell to drive with the stock twins.
No idea what came stock on those motors, I'm a 2jz and 7mgte guy
