how many o2 sensors do we have? i know i need to change then but how many do we have so i know how many to buy? from what i researched we have 2. am i wrong?

We do have 2 pre-cat O2 sensors. California emissions (like my car) I believe have a different sensor than non-Cali cars, which means a different # of wires therefore a different plug to match up to, check that out before you buy them. It's best to go OEM rather than a universal Bosch, simply because with OEM you don't have to cut and splice wires. They are both easy to get to and remove with an O2 socket, visible on the passengers side of the engine, one toward the front and one at the rear near the firewall.

I am pretty sure these cars are 50 state certified for emissions. Mine was originally sold in Vegas in 1994 and I have not had any issues with smog. My understanding is there are 2 pre-cat O2 sensors.

when OBD2 came in you have an up stream and down stream O2 sensor

my car has 3, 2 before the main cat and one before the 2nd cat
