Default JDM mirrors vs. USDM mirrors

Hi guys,

I recently picked up a 1993 aristo and am loving it.

My the housing of my left mirror was hit by a bicyclist and as a result, cracked. My understanding is that JDM mirrors have features that USDM mirrors don't (heating, vibrating, folding). Can I just buy a USDM mirror and swap in the internals from my JDM mirror into the USDM housing and paint it?

If anyone has any tips on taking apart the mirror, that would help too!

Thanks a bunch!

If its just the back housing that is cracked you should be able to just swap out that part. I recently sold my aristo with an extra pair of JDM mirrors, so if worst case scenario you cant swap I can ask the new seller if he will split them for you. He's located in Van, BC

That would be fantastic!!

The mirrors look like they are in two parts. It is the "trim" part that is broken (i.e. not the part that you can see when looking at the front of the car.) I've attached a picture of a mirror found on ebay and indicated where mine is cracked.

Would you mind asking him how much he would like for them? I'm in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Thanks again! I really appreciate your help!

It's actually not cracked. My description was wrong. A chunk of the plastic is missing

if u really look at bout mirror you'll see that the jdm is a little bigger than the usdm, because the the jdm has more features, and the internal parts is much bigger than the usdm,so wouldn't be able to get it to closes, ie (usdm)

You cannot swap them for many reasons.

1) Size is different
2) There is a pivot motor for ht power folding mirrors
3) Plug is different
