Red face Ol' Trusty Factory Alarm System!

When I bought my lex I was only given a single key but the other day im at a collision shop(No accident but just 2 get some estimates on a few things 2 get bumped out & broken window trim) So I go to reach under the grill like any other day and the alarm for the first time in a year goes off! I always see the light flashing but never think twice about it(its enough 2 scare of amateurs)! I just found it kinda interesting and wanted 2 ask you guys about yours...if you still use it(most likely not) O yea I've even tried to trigger the thing but no luck so I wanted 2 know of your experience with it!

I use mine because it turns on by default when I lock the doors with the remote on the key. The light won't deter anyone, but the alarm probably will. I've triggered mine by opening the trunk (with the key) when the car was locked and the alarm was armed. After the trunk was open for about 25 seconds, the alarm triggered. It honks the horn repeatedly. Can't remember if it flashes lights or not.

It will also trigger if you open the hood with it armed or reach through an open window to open the car.
