Default Headlight Retrofit

Has anyone done this to the GS300/Aristo? The TSX retrofit is a common mod for the SC400/300 but I'm new to the GS300 wondering what other options there are if any.

So post up some pics of your headlight retrofits and specify what they are!

the retrofit for GS will definitely be better because of their bigger housing. You can put LS430 or Q45...the possibilities are endless. I've seen some retrofit on some GS and they blew away the SC in output, ballerness and cool factor

I noticed your thread on how you did it, looks good. Thanks for the input. I didn't know the Q45 headlight would work or not. Very cool.

Yup, saw the link. Wanted a bit more input from people who have done different retrofits, and to see the comparison.

Wink

I did aristo headlights with a TSX retrofit and halos from AAC. The q45 will not fit for the low beam but might fit for the high beam. The headlights look bigger but the back spacing doesnt allow the space the q45 needs, trust me I would of done this it if it was possible. The TSX and bmw make for a great retro and keep in mind the aristo headlights are easier to retrofit than the US version.

Good info, thanks for the post. Why are the Aristo lights easier? Do they have a slightly bigger back space?

i've seen Q45 projectors, or atleast Q45-type projectors in MK1 aristo headlights.

i haven't yet tried to do that, i was thinking of so when i opened mine up, but just decided to do the mod, but not retrofit, that i did

One downside to it, I guess is that you'll have to shave the lines from the cover with a retrofit, otherwise it won't do any justice.

That's my worry, I've heard they are a pain in the a$$ to de-line.

They are ridiculously annoying to de-line. I bought a headlight just to play around with it an try it out. Gave up after 2 hours and only a 5" patch to show for the effort... course i'm still new to the whole wetsanding thing

Thats not entirely true. I get a very sharp cut off and no glare from my lights that are not de-lined..I would want to de-line strictly for looks because it does look cleaner.

once you retrofit, how are you able to adjust the light output? as for as up and down and side to side. do you still use the factory adjustments?
