Default gated shifter?

has anyone wire up a 2nd gen gated shifter in there 1st gen?

I have an IS300 one. Pretty srtaight forward but takes *****. Ill post pics if you like.

kidzik007 any after pictures? Seems like u had to create some sort of custom center panel to cover...

this is next on my table, but man, trying to find the actual shifter WITH the connectors is a pain

it WAS a pain. The wiring is actually very easy on the IS shifter. On most cases, you end up making a custom center top cover but you still use the stock center 'console' piece.

so does this work properly as a manual shift for our cars or does the #3 on the shifter not do any thing sice ours go L-2-D not L-2-3-D cause if it allows you to manual shift like a gen 2 im about this seriously. and will right hand drive shifters work or is that a no?

do you have a finish product pic??? how was the wiring, i have been looking for a IS shifter!! what year did u use???

Any year IS300 Shifter works. The real pain was wiring the Trac switch since the IS300 has an extra Snow setting. Also all the gears work but the M acts as D all the time.
