Default Lights are draining the battery!!!

So I fell asleep in my car today for an hour with it running and didn't pay attention to the lights being on, I had the radio off and just the heat and lights running. I turn off the car and try to restart and its dead. I have installed a new battery and alternator. We also checked the charging system for a drain when all is off and nothing out of the ordinary. Any ideas?

Thanks
Dustin

might be idling too low... raise the RPMs a bit to keep system charged correctly

I'm assuming there is an idle set screw on the tb that can be adjusted?

I briefly looked under the hood around the tb but unless I was blind, I couldn't see a set screw... Anyone have insight to exact location on tb

It's only an 80 amp alternator. That means at idle you have about 40-50 amps maybe, barely enough to run the car. I had a 165 amp alt and I special ordered it with a smaller pulley to get the amps up at lower rpms along with a deep cycle yellow top ultima battery.

That's a good idea.. how much for the smaller pulley? I also have a 160amp alternator, but does not charge until I'm about 1100-1200 rpm. I idle around 700-800 rpm....

ill look around for a smaller pulley, i was just trying to crank the idle up any way I could, no aftermarket stuff on it so don't have to worry there. I looked up on alldata for an idle set screw and unless I was confused, it seemed to state that the idle was completely controlled by the computer?

http://search.waiglobal.com/partsear...?part=24-82263

just bought this pulley

and according to this link and his calculations

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...-charging.html

might bump the idle up a little bit for less than $15 its worth a try
