Purchasing a Lexus GS300 anywhere from 98' - 05' is on my to-do list. However, how hard is it to find a GS300 that needs engine repair? (I will purchase a new engine) I am looking for a cheap GS300 that I can put money into. My license is suspended for a year, so I will have plenty of time to wrench on it. Does anyone know how to search for vehicles as such? I can travel and have access to a car trailer.

Also, I own all the tools needed to rebuild a 2002 toyota avalon; does this mean I have the majority of what is required to rebuild a GS300?

look for the cheapest possible GS300. chances are it's going to need work

try craigslist. Just keep in mind, those engines dont tend to break all that often.
