chances are your not going to find someone to make a glass mold. and if you do, it'll be pricy.
so try not to get your hopes up. haha

Any news on your end regarding this? Been watching this thread for a minute as I've previously attempted to mod my headlights in the past, with little success so was hoping to see another's work.

I found a friend who's girlfriend is from hong kong. Her family works in a glass bottle manufaturing plant and makes custom glass doodads. She CAN make them, but I'd hive to give her a set, and they would likely be destroyed in the making process. Ideally I'd find a set that had all the lines removed and then "copy" those.

But that required money, and I'm spending all the extra $$ I have on a fuel system.

I tried to buy a few sets, but the sellers never got back to me.

wonder if someone could call the company DEPO and see if they would be able to make an headlight in glass. they make tons of aftermarket lights.

Once I get my car running, I'll be up for helping out the community.
are your extra headlights cleared (have the lines removed, etc?)

If not, start by doing that I guess, and then we'll send 'em off.

I don't think they will make a mold with the lines and then remove the lines, etc.

If you guys want to get serious with this, I have 1 headlight which has been de-lined, old pics here..

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lig...ghts-pics.html

My ex got into a little fender bender a few years back and damaged 1 of the headlights and I never got around to resanding the other one so I it off and put stock headlights back on. If anyone wants to buy 1 retrofitted, delined headlight, let me know.

They are a bit yellow from oxidation, but nothing a little lens cleaner wont fix.

how about if all of us email the one DEPO company, and see if they'll make a set, since i' msure if enough of us flood thier inbox with requests for 1st gen GS300 lights they may think there's enough interest for them to make some.

to de line the headlight is easy.

it's a process of wet sanding. once the headlights are baked apart, you start with 600 frit sandpaper, and start sanding by hand, then 800 grit, then 100, then 1200,then 1600,then 2000 grit, then you start polishing them. it's not hard. I've done it to a set of foglights that were badly damaged on the outside and had gauges in them 1/4" deep

it's not hard, the "hardest" part is baking them apart, after that it's just painstaking work

And after that you move to 800 grit and even more pain.... so on so on...
Been there tried that, and gave up
I found liquid acrylic and mould rubber from a local hobby shop and I'm in the process of trying to find the best method of making me a pair of clear lenses
