Default OEM Navi for 1st Gen GS

Hey guys. In my efforts to keep my GS as OEM as possible, I need some input as far as upgrading the sound system goes. The current system still works fine, but I would love to have Navigation. Are there any direct OEM swaps from newer GS's that will fit? As far as difficulty level, is it plug-n-play, or is there a harness kit, or just a lot of splicing?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't done any research on this for the 1GS, but I'd have to think swapping an OEM unit is going to be more difficult than putting in an aftermarket. OEM Navs on Lexus also control the ac/heating and other car controls which you won't need. They'll also be very outdated in terms of technology (screen clarity, speed, bluetooth, ipod, etc).

I'd suggest finding a good surround that will help it look like OEM and putting in aftermarket.

I've got no idea, but don't think any OEM nav system came in US cars until 1998 so suspect it isn't plug and play.

I don't see why not. Only reason I ended up going with 2 amps was to power the sub and to power the speakers.

Thats good to hear I've been doing some research and seems like everyone uses aftermarket amps. Kinda off topic but Wald do u have any other pictures of your car? Like any links? I love that kit & i can not find it or anything similar on the net.
