Question aftermarket grille

hey fellow cl members. just wondering if anyone knows if the 2nd gs grille would fit on our 1gs? I currently got my gs repainted with an aristo front end and will be putting in the aristo tail light set up. painted the Lexus emblems black and was thinking of getting an aftermarkete grille. I seen tons for the 2gs on ebay. Only found one carbon fiber grille for our 1gs on Ebay. or would it be easier to just sand down the stock grille and paint it with some gloss black paint? I think the black grille would look sexy on my pearl white/grey 1gs. thanks to anyone that can help out.

Default painted stock grill

I have one with the chrome trim piece painted in base coat clear (factory finish) and the center matte black with the original "L" in chrome. It's a good look to me.

Sorry, but, I can't figure out how to upload freakin pictures!!!!

anyone have this grille? wonder how the quality is? looking for more of a mesh look. I don't like the chrome grilles or benz looking ones.

wow, nice grill for a track car!
unfortunately, after much experimenting and since I like light colors (my GS is going to be white), a dark painted grille makes our cars for some weird reason look like snoopy's face. Thats right, snoopy's face. Now, if on a red car or even a silver car, this grill might be able to pull it off specially if other CF goodies like some TechnoCraft mirrors and CF GT wing is insatlled. If I was building a track car I would jump on this awesome looking grill.

just my .02

well I do plan on doing a 2jzgte swap in the future. seems like that grille would benefit the cooling of the turbos?

the grill isn't going to make a diffence in cooling. The OEM one already lets enough air in. I like that grill but personally I would paint match it. The style is good but Im personally REAL picky on the type of mesh grill that's used. How about the 1 piece Aristo grill? AB flug? Admiration?

The grill on the ebay article IS for 1st gens. My favourite grills of all time is:
-JP (not available anymore)
-Admiration (like 600 bux)
-ABFlug (about 550 bux)
-Garson (I had one but let it go since was more classy than sporty, not available anymore) Ins0mniac made really good use of my old grill
