Default Torque converter 1U&2J interchangable?

I've got a '96 gs300 with a dying torque converter. I've also got a friend with a torque converter off a 1uz from a '95 lexus ls400. My question is are they interchangable? The ls400 uses the a341e and the '96 gs300 uses the a350e. In searching for information online I've come across some indications that they are, but no solid answer.
Anybody know for sure?

Thanks

Finally figured it out, they are different, but just barely. Also the A350e and the A340e use the same converter.
