Default 1jzgte gs300

I have been searching all around and to be frank can not find anything about swapping a 1jz into a gs300. Would it be more complicated than a 2jz? or bolt up just fine such as in the sc300? also would there be any differences in wiring? any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated

A 2jzgte would be better in my opinion. They can be sourced for about 2k and are almost plug and play from what I understand..

ive found full 1jz's engine tranny wiring and ecu for 1200 shipped to my door which to me would make more sense than strapping a 2jz to a old beaten gearbox, also gas mileage is playing into my mind and ive heard with a decent tune and a light enough foot i could get roughly 28 mpg on the highway.

You could do that.. but if you purchased a 2jzgte, you would use the trans that came with it.. but the gas mileage sounds amazing. Can anyone else confirm that?

it was on one of the supra forums i used to check back when i had a mkIII and was looking at a 1jz. I just didnt know what all wiring would be different because from what i have heard its a relatively simple process to get it into a sc300 and if toyota is anything like their other Japanese brethren they dont like to reinvent the wheel for each model

alot of headache the wiring this car is completly different then doing the aristo swap u wont be getting alot of answers because everyone on here will be doing the aristo swap i would think your best bet on here would be to ask if one of our members can post a full wiring diagram of the aristo harness and see if u can get a sc300/soarer member to post one of the soarer wiring diagram that way u can see what your in for. however i was told that u can run a 1jz of an aristo harness with minor altercation if this is true then u might be able to do that however thats just a rumor as of now cant confirm it

just from looking it up the 1jz has close to if not the exact same wiring as a supra, since a 2jz from a supra can be tossed into a sc300 like an aristo goes into a gs300. I might just do it and post a writeup incase anyones interested.

The cabin harness is a nightmare. A couple of guys last year did it and it's more hassle than it's really worth.

1jz is easier for the sc since the sc in japan is th soarer which comes with the 1jz. 2jz swap is easier in the gs cuz in japan the aristo comes with the 2jzgte
