Hi ladies and gentlemen. I am finally starting on the wifes gs3,after a long strenuous time gettin my ls400 right. Thanks to this site and not giving up,i have made major progress and am the now owner of a wonderfull automobile. Before i get bashed for not searching,i did. Im curious about transmission fluid because i have not gotten a straight answer anywhere. I KNOW my ls only gets toyota type-iv fluid. However i was told to use either toyota or dextron III in this car. I dont have the budget or money to do this twice. So just to be clear what is the hands down correct fluid for this car. I also am wondering is this a 4 or 5 speed automatic. That was another thing that seems unclear. Thanks in advance for all your help.

4 speed gs. i use type-iv fluid.

Just to clear everything out 1st Gen GS 93-95 4spd, 96-97 5spd and transmission fluid is type IV.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet! Well thank you for clearing that up,i guess ill stop hangin onto the 94 trans i have been keeping as a spare. I dont need to keep it if their different. Great to finally be able to freshen up the fluids and feel comforatable with her driving it
