rim newbie here
so i dont know jack about rims and began researching the stock gs300 rims for my 93. i found all this crap about the offset and camber distance but dont know what to make of it when trying to get a wider or bigger tire so i decided to ask some of you experts. i was looking at a couple of staggered setup: 17x7 front +55 and 17x8.5 rear +65(rims only not sure what tires i would use too), or 18x11 rear w/ 295 35 R18 18x9 front (not sure what tires on the front). would either of these setups work or even be worth it? thanks

From what I understand, a +35 offset 18x8-18x9 wheel will fit pretty well on these cars. I am not an expert by any means though, and i would definitely get that confirmed before buying a set of wheels. lol

the 17"s are from a s2000 i think and the 18"s would be coming from a supra (think its a 98 body style). not sure if that helps any. i know the bolt patterns should be the same with both setups but can't remember the offset for the 18"s.

The offsets and width from the S2k are weak. Your stock wheels have stance than those.
The sets off the Supra MAY fit depending on the offsets of the 9" front and 11" rear. If the offsets of the 9" are +25, give or take 5 mm, you can make them fit with fender rolling and proper size tires. If the 11" offset is between +30-35mm, you can make them fit also with fender work and proper tire sizing.

stay away from those s2k rims. Like boosted said, your stock wheels will look better than those. Your GS will eat the s2k rims, it'll look like an RV on matchbox wheels.
I agree with boosted offsets as well for the supra wheels. But you will have to do a more fender work depending on your drop as well as the tire sizes. But these will look good with proper stance.

If you want 17's, just get the factory GS430 5spoke wheels. Saying you want something that fits well doesnt really work here. "fit well" has different meanings pending on who you're talking to. Some think "fit well" means slammed, fender rolling/pulling and stretched tires to fill the wheel well to the max and some think "fit well" means fits with ease or fits with no mods at all and no rubbing issues....but those types of wheels usually "wont look good"
There are tons of topics where people post their wheels measurements, just start reading. 18x8 & 18x9 with offsets above 35 will fit just fine with out any rubbing. My 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 with 38 offsets fit fine with no rubbing when I had Tein CS's on but now they rub a little since Im lower on BC coilovers.

You got all the help you need on here. Just take the time (lots of it) to read as many threads as you can, look at pictures and compare size's/offsets/etc. and you'll get the idea.
