Default gas needle sticking!

so out of nowhere my gas needle stops working when it gets just below half a tank, i didnt notice it til my low fuel light came on and i was like, oh damn it has been around half a tank for a LONG time haha. but does anyone have any input on this problem?? im sure its the needle. im probly gonna pull the cluster saturday and just unplug and replug up everything on the cluster board and see if that fixes it. weird thing is tho, when i fill it up the needle moves up to the full mark.....
