Default Need Catalytic converter for 2000 gs 400 in California

just joined and need some real help. My ignition coils went bad on my gs 400. I had both replaced at the dealer but then they told me the catalytic converters went bad bc of the excessive heat and some large particle the size of a golf ball came out. I need to get some CA legal ones to pass smog. Dont want to use dealer parts ($2500 with labor). I need some after market ones but don't know what to use....do I need to worry about the O2 sensor or is that a separate part and I can just have the dealer replace with my parts I give him....need help ASAP....
