Default swap 2002 is300 2jz into 96 gs300

hi,

as mentionned in title, is does this swap makes sense? not looking for power only daily driver. i know the new engine is vvti-l but old it be worth it? i can get almost complete front end of the IS.

smoking oil badely... only reason why i was asking is because i wanted something reliable and good on gas. and i like this car too much to let it go.

Unless the motor is free, it's not worth it. Does it smoke all the time or smoke at first then burn off?

Most typically it's the valve seals that go bad. The engines don't blow up much.

There are plenty of used gs300 engines out there, I'd try to find a replacement.

Or just change the valve seals!!!!! 2Js are pretty durable!!!!

+1 ^^. The only reason I got my GS was b/c of the motor. These things last forever!
