Default A little info

I have a 96 1st gen gs with the 5 speed auto. Im planing on doing a low boost setup, probably using a godspeed t3/t4 hybrid turbo. ive seen the setup dyno charts, just around 310 at 7-8 psi. Anything needs to be done to the tranny at this power level? i will probably just boost 7. this car is my daily driver and my occational fun car.

Some guys will tell you to run a tighter, higher stall torque converter or an upgraded valve body. I would run it like it is. Dont expect it to last forever at with that kind of power though.

If you're only looking at 310whp stock tranny should be fine. Thats about what a gte with bolt ons puts down. A trans cooler might help make it last longer.

A trans cooler will help for sure. The trans from a GTE is stronger than the stocker behind a GE.
IIRC the gte got 5 clutches in the back and the ge got 4.

So a good sized cooler huh. An electronic fan on the cooler will also help. Ill see if it happends.

I am running a 2jzgte with k26 turbos on the stock tranny. it holds up fine, but I have a tranny cooler to help down cooling as well.
