I haven't taken it in for a tune up or inflation check so that could be part of the reason my gas is burning fast but after my oil change today the car so much smoother than before and I barely burned any gas today. But a tune up might make it run a whole lot better then I could start on the small stuff again.

Yea I should do a tune up I've checked my tire inflation on my last oil change and since I live in Miami my ac is on all day lol I'll try a little tune up like spark plugs and stuff to see if that helps besides spark plugs what else do they do in a tune up that I can handle myself lol

Does K&N do really good with the air filter?

If you don't have a check engine light doesn't mean there can't be something wrong. Just recently we got our '96 GS300 getting much much better gas mileage cause it hasn't been that great ever since we've had it. It got about 20-22 mpg on the highway. First off, I put a 3" cat back exhaust on it, figured this would help a little with mpgs, but no luck. One of the O2 sensors was actually bad, the FSM had specs to test them with a multimeter, that didn't help mileage at all either. After being suspect for a while, I dropped the front pipe of the exhaust and sure enough found that the front cat had started breaking apart and chunks of it's decay were actually clogging the 2nd cat. No telling how long the car was like this either. I got most of the junk out...it was A LOT. I ended up just punching out the 2nd cat so it wouldn't get clogged any more as the 1st one continues to decay and threw it all back together. Night and day difference! The car was like a whole different animal, it ran amazing and picked up at least 40 lost horsepower and mpg's started to come back to 23-24. Since then we've installed a K&N air filter and done a fresh tune up with plugs, cap, and rotor and it's continued to get closer to it's factory specified 25 mpg highway mileage...unfortunately our transmission took a crap so now the car sits until I can figure out what's wrong with it. Might want to drop down your front pipe and inspect the catalytic converters...ours only had 140,000 miles on it, but it's also a '96.
