Default My New 1994 i need help with some mods

just bought my 1st Lexus gs300. Been looking to buy one for 10 years now. i finally got around too it. I went with the 1st gen instead of the 2nd gen. to me it looks better. it has 170k miles but drives like new. i have a dual exhaust system I got it with a custom muffler that is very loud. Sounds to much like a honda. im more into that luxury roar u get from a powerful luxury car. any ideas what muffler i can buy? to get the lower deep sound(example mb cls or cl).

Planned mods
Soild Black Paint
HID low beam 55w 8000k lights
HID 3000k or 8000k 35w fog light- Opinions??????????
7" indash Gps dvd player
replace all the door speakers with Jl audio 5 1/4 speakers and go with the jl audio 12 sub free air sub in the stock hole in the rear no box (any feedback on how this sub setup sounds) not sure what amp yet
Black on crome lip 22" rims its gonna be hard to talk me out of it. Im in south florida and we put BIG rims on everything. Not worried about the ride the shops here specialize in big wheels. if i dont like the ride i will go down to some 20's
I plan to add some others things later . thanks for your input

Well if you go with wheels 22's are to big and will make the car look stupid. 20's will work just fine. You want advice on mods but what route are you trying to take on this. Luxury or Performance?

Oh Lord, please save that GS now that you own it. The last owner really rice it out. The first thing you shoul do is make it all black and get rid of that red wheels.

i want to go the luxury route. Getting it painted in a couple of weeks all black. and this weekend im going to paint the ugly red rims black. i also need to repair a couple of things like both driver and passenger window dont work and theres a small crack on my mass air senor. Ive been going back and front about the rims if i go 20's it would have to be staggered. Any idea on the muffler.

On your throttle boddy does it say trac? That answers that question. Second please stay with 20's. I have them on mine and they fit perfect. A 35 series tire is just right. 22's and youll jus join the crown vics and lincoln town car clubs. Uhhh lol. I laughed sooo hard please take them wheels off asap. Good luck on ur build. Got any question dont be affraid to ask.

Dont be ghetto and leave the brakes stock when you get those 22's PLEASE. 22's wont be luxurious by the way. Please leave the over 20"s to the American cars and trucks. And based on what you said about staying with the S. Florida style, why would you paint it black on black vs orange or purple or white or rainbow.

That luxury roar wont come from the exhaust on a 2jz-ge, you'll need a v8 swap or 2jz-gte to get that "roar"

If you're looking for style advice, I dont think barely anyone here can help based on the direction you want to go. Might want to look for a "Dub" forum for that. Theres a DUB style section under special interests on the main page

Mechanical advice though...ask away.

thanks for all the advice..... no rainbow color paints for me. lol.... i would never leave stock brakes with wheels that big looks tacky and dangerous. I looked under the car and it doesn't look like a custom exhaust it just looks likes like he molded a loud muffler tip on there to make the noise. and idea of a quieter tip i can put on

try searching for a used OEM one in the classifieds, craigslist, ebay, call up local junkyards. If nothing, go to a muffler shop and have them weld on new OEM replacement mufflers. There are a few guys on here I can recall getting aftermarket exhaust in the last few months and may have the factory one laying around.

since i know a little something about south florida.... i say leave the 22's to everyone else on that bandwagon!!! do something different for the area and slam that thing on some WIDE wheels!! i can only hope to take my GS back home some day!

BTW since when are 22's big rims? goodluck with the build looking forward to what you make of it!!!
