Default GS300 problems - Help needed!

Hello all,

Currently, there is a few small issues with my GS300 (its a 1996 model).

1. Battery is needing replaced, but i discovered that when you turn on the radio and then turn on the fog lights, the radio cuts out. Hmmm, any ideas?

2. The temperture guage for the in car climate control does not light up when the headlights are turned on at night? Is this a simple case of a new bulb - will it cost a fortune to be replaced??

3. When putting on the heating in the car, the far left passenger air vent has no air coming out of it (its right hand drive). Obviously i have tried opening the vent (we are not that silly) but still there does not seem to be anything happening. Again, when you put the heater controls for the feet only, no air comes out underneath. Seams rather odd to me.

4. The heated seats have stopped working, is there any good ideas to get them going again or is it a case of buying new elements?

Again, as allways, any help is appreciated.

Jordan

Hi Jor,
I don't know how to fix all the problems of your car, but I've just replaced the backlight bulbs of my Climate Control with T5 LED's, it just costs few dollars on Ebay, and not too hard to remove. Good luck!

It is just a matter of replacing the backlight bulbs for the climate control and display to light up, not too hard to do. You may have a motor out that controls the swing doors on your heat/ac, when you take it all apart to replace the bulb, inspect everything back there...you may need a new climate control or swing motor. It also sounds like someone may have wired up the stereo incorrectly or through the power source that also controls the fog lights. Either way, electrical gremlins like that are hard to track down. Replace the battery, check all fuses and look for a short in your fog lights. Does it have the stock stereo or aftermarket. If aftermarket, rewire the stereo properly.
