Default Less is More: Conservative GS Modding

So I've spent some time looking at a lot of pics of some really nice 1GS' around here. Most of them look great without a doubt, but as I've looked more, I've noticed there are few conservatively modded 1GS. So I decided to look even more and I found a few more but not too many.

Let me clarify what I mean by "conservative": no body kits, not slammed just basically trying to make the most of what Lexus was already trying to go for. i.e. wheel/suspension upgrades, tint, light mods, and things of that nature. Something you would feel comfortable driving to a business meeting in. Not that I think there's anything wrong with body kits and slamming and other more transformational modding, but I'm surprised I don't see as much of the light modding.

Post any pics if you have em or you have a buddy or have seen one somewhere.
I'm in the market for one of these right now and I'd love some examples of how this GS can look with stock body and light mods.

That's exactly what I'm going for with my car. Just need to get coilovers and some spacers to bring the wheels out more. I'll get some recents pics up of it when I get home. I'm posting this from my phone.

Here's the one I'm looking at

I think it looks pretty clean already but with some nicer wheels and fixing that tint I'll see where I'm at

I like the 2-GS wheels on there. The 3-GS would also be a nice look as well. Rear wing...not so, YMMV.

Just a few pictures of my GS, it still needs some TLC to get it where I want, but I'm happy with it so far.

An older picture prior to cleaning the headlights..

i like what you did there. that is conservative modding as far as the OP describes it. very low pro, subtle. i prefer the rim close to the fender, so it's not my style, but it's pretty clean nonetheless. not too sure how i feel about the blacked out housings, maybe if the car was white or black.

nice ride either way.

@ deknick - Yea man! I'm lovin it. That's a sharp lookin ride. This car is already so nice the way it is and that's definitely capitalizing on that.

@ fstlane - That's exactly what I'm talking about, too. Well done, I like where you're going with that.

Thanks for the pics guy's. I'd consider myself primarily after a 2GS, but I'm warming up to the idea of a 1GS more and more each day..

Thanks guys, I'm in the market for a set Of coilovers to level the car of and to take care of that last little bit of wheel gap. And, spacers are definitely in order to get the offset more aggressive especially in the rear.

Thanks again for the compliments, it keeps me motivated to continue building it.

hey man, i like your setup. very "dealer packaged". if you put a TRD badge on it, and i didnt know about Lexus i'd probably believe it.

I'm loving all of these guys. vtec, I can't stop looking at your car in that overhead shot.. One word.. Perfection.
Wayne, I really like your approach too, that exhaust is sharp and I love those wheels.
The pictures are greatly appreciated! They're really giving me a chance to see a side of the first gen I knew little of and that I really like.
