Default change starter w/o the coolant issue - 1.54hrs ttl

The story goes that the front (at times) and the rear (mostly) cross-flow head coolant manifolds are to be removed as part of the starter R/R project.

Not so - follow the guides, w/o the mainfolds ( no leaky) involved. Get a friend or your small handed wife to work the flex-end racket that you will use to remove the starter bolts from the firewall side... You'll get it..

We did.

Big man hands will need to be taped up first - cutting ... n all.

In the end of this simple bypass - probably expressed by hundreds before me, but my search failed,... well it worked just perfectly.

Redundant post I am sure, so sorry to pee in a full pot.

12mm or 13mm iirc... Look the only way this project succeeded without all the usual BS was a small hand/forearm approaching from the driver side along the firewall. My landscape - jack of all trades group of workers had the smallest of them tackle that portion of the project for some extra cash- the key was a 5'2" 120lb. soaking wet skinny as hell guy using my mini-flexhead 3/8" racket and a short 6-point socket. He loosened each bolt a bit, then the next, and back to the first, while a buddy was pulling the starter toward the front of the motor.

S K I N N Y arm and tiny hand.
