Default Denso mk4 Pump Issue

So yesterday my buddy was installing a denso pump from a mk4 supra into his Gs300, it was a straight forward replacement. only issue we had is when the pump see's 9 volts it wont stay on. I thought the denso worked like the stock fuel pump, which is control by the fuel pump ecu.. which at idle and cruising it see's 9 volts and at open throttle it see's 12. Can some one give me a insight on what to do? do i need to do the 12v mod? or is their anyone running the denso pump with the fuel pump ecu with no issues

Go ahead and do the 12V mod, I have a Walbro 225 running off of the ECU, and honestly I wish it was 12V constant. I have had the 12V mod before, and I will probably end up doing the same, if I end up keeping my car.

What is the correct way to do the 12volt mod off the fuel pump ecu I want to do it the corrct way wit the relay. For "fail safe" purpose .. The pump current won't stay on in direct swap unless we pin it for the diagnostic in the bay
