I tried to search this but could not find a definite answer.. There are not many options when it comes to suspension mods for the 1gen gs. Im just trying to stiffen the ride a little bit. I figure the first thing to do is a stb. So does anyone know if either a 2gen gs,Sc or supra strut bar will work on a 1gen gs? Thanks

I know it's sucks because everything is second gen and I'm not sure what parts are interchangeable . My boys got a jdm jzs147 strut bar but I'm not a big fan of the way they look.

Maybe because there's a lot more 2nd gens running around generating more money for the companies making them. Granted, and I may be wrong here, those of us still supporting the 1st gen don't want "cheap" non functional parts on our cars. The Aristo bar works, and while some may not like it's appearance, I felt a difference the first time I drove after installing it.

the "cheap" strut bars work every bit as good as the "exspensive" strut bars, as long as they fit properly. its a bar bolted between 2 points. thats it. nothing special about it. no moving parts etc...

On a side note, I have seen the Aristo bars for <$150 recently. That is quite a drop compared to what they were a few years ago.

honestly, the strut bars really wont do anything for the gs as it has upper and lower control arms. its mainly for looks. now on a macpherson strut setup like the mk2 supras, it makes a huge difference. honestly, if they dont have a "cheap" bar available, ill prolly end up buying a one peice bar for a supra and then just cut and reweld it to fit properly etc.. ill have to try and get some measurements from my gs and then get someon on supraforums to measure their bar for me. right now im having a heck of a time finding out the stock sway bar diameter. im curious as to wether my gs has aftermarket sway bars or not. my sway bar looks much larger then pics of other 1st gens ive seen. but in pics its hard to tell the diameter of a bar by just looking at it.
btw, by "cheap" bar, i meant a no name ebay bar as apposed to say a trd, tein, cusco, etc...

Yeah. this is true. Not many options. The Aristo strut bar sucks. I was forced to take mine off after installing my coilovers. The thread is not long enough to suffice for the thich metal. You can catch the thread with the nut. It looks ugly anyway. Too tall and bulky. No need to stress it though, it wont do much for the jzs147 as william stated above
