Hey guys I picked up a cheap aristo tranny for my gs300. The pump went in my tranny 3 months ago and I will not be able tpo start my r-154 swap until the spring. Ok I have found the thread to do the coversion over of valve body bu I can not see the pictures. Does anyone have the pics to this conversion. I know its easy and it works just need the conversion info with pics. I am running a AEM V1 so there is no need to worry about control. I just need the pics.. Damon originally did the swap with pic but my computer will not show them.......![Frown](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Both the pump and the valve body are both pretty straight foward but i wanted to see how the aristo tranny drives from the gs300 tranny. The aristo has more clutches and and a bigger torque conveter. I am just curious.....

should drive the same, unless the stall speed of the converter is different. i have an aristo trans sitting in my garage that came wit hthe gte swap i bought for my supra. should i ever need to swap it in, are all of the electrical connections the same as the gs300? or is that why you were going to swap the valve body? also, you are aware that if you want it to shift harder that you can shim the accumalators right?

I have a valvebody upgrade in my gs300 already. I had the toyota guys that do mountain climbing with there trucks do my valvebody upgrade not level 10. all i wanted to see how the aristo tranny feels from the gs300 with the valve body upgrade. I have had my tranny built for 7 years and never had any issues with it and it shifted incredible. I just want to see with extra clutch pack will hold. The reason why the a340 fail so much is because of less clutch packs and heat. I was told that if you manually shift the lexus evrytime you are racing, running it hard etc....... It puts the torque on a different part of the tranny and as long as you do the valvebody upgrade with a big transcooler it should hold fairly well. It work for plenty of years but when I went aem it took the manual shifting away from me

a trick alot of domestic guys do is run the castrol tractor atf. they say itll hold the heat ALOT better then reg trans fluid. im not sure how the toyota trans would hold up to it, though if yours has been rebuilt with raybestos blue clutchs i would assume itll be fine as thats what most of those guys use. i just dont know why the reg dex 3 kills the a340 series trans that say to use toyota type 4. never been able to find out exactly what is different between the fluids. but in the ls400 section, alot of guys had trans failures after flushing and filling with dex 3, though i guess it could have just been coincedence. unfortunatly, alot of people wait until they notice a problem before doing required maint.
