tire wearing out issue
So I have tein coilovers...that's about it in regards to suspension mods..
My car used to be pretty low, but my front tires kept wearing out in less than 8 months on the inside...more on the drivers side than the passenger side. So, I said, **** it...I can't afford new tires every 8months, so I raised the ride height...
So two years later, my front tires look great...until upon further inspection and I see the inside of the driver side tire is worn out to where the belt is showing. Now I'm just pissed because I thought I solved the problem. Also I noticed a clunking sound on my drivers side when I go over uneven patches of road. Whether or not there is s connection between the two is unknown, for suspension isn't my area of expertise.
So why the Hell is this tire wearing out bad on the inside on my front driver side?? Id like to get pointed in the right direction and also to find a way to lower it back without comprimising improper tire wear.
Thanks guys!

Alignment is important. Your toe needs to be dead on. Camber is not as bad of a wear issue as people think. It's just just when you change your camber your toe changes as well. Any time u change ride hight you need to align your toe. Also I had this same problem. Check your lower control arm bushings for play. If there's play in the bushings your angles will change. Even if u just for aligned as soon as u drive it your alignment will be off

tire wear
My last set of tires for my LS460 wore out pretty fast. Anyone have experience with a tire that lasts more than 20000 miles? I don't believe I have a need for a V rated tire but don't know what other tire is likely to give me better wear.

well at least u dont have it as bad as me lol! im lowered on supra lowering springs and i get horrible inside tire wear to the point i have to get new tires every 2 months on the rear lol!!! but i know my toe is off so i would look into and the lca bushings like mentioned above. the clunking sound sounds like a bad bushing on that side!

I have the same problem too. I have replaced all but the lwr ctrl arm bushings (which I have) just have to install them.
On a side note: are you going to go to the Cupcake meet in houston next month?

Agreed...alignment sir. Yes, when you raised the car you have to re-align too. It also wears faster on the driver side, because there is extra weight, you, on the driver side. The best alignments are those with the driver sitting in the driver seat.
