bearing noise is similar to a grinding whining noise, it's most noticeable when turning on high speeds. i'm surprise to hear this -definitely something out of the norm. what's your mileage...it may also be the diff. bearing?

HEY!
I have the EXACT same problem with my fron right wheel bearing. It makes a "whuuuuring" noise at higher speeds when I turn the wheel slightly.
The bad bearing is responsible for the uneven treadware in my tires.
I had one estimate done (i'm not looking at it right now) but it was just below $400 to get it repaired. Am I getting suckored?
I plan on getting some more estimates done soon.

i would guess parts are less than $200, changing the wheel bearing is usually not a hard job, haven't tried it on the GS yet so i don't know if there any gotchas there. i plan on doing it myself soon.
