Subwwofers and amps
hey guys i need some help
im looking to get two 12 inch subs that are 2000watts rms and 5200watts max together at 2ohms
and the guys on ebay im getting them from said i need a 5000 watt amp so they wont blow but the brand of the subs doesnt have a 5000watt amp but they have a 6000watt amp and all the 5000watt amps i see are not 2000watts rms at 2ohms there either 1700 watts or the 6000watt amps are 2500watts rms and i dont want to under or over power them can you guys help me with this situation?

it's always better to over power than under power speakers. distortion is the #1 killer of speakers. having more power leaves headroom and less chance of distortion. it's like having a fast car. just because it's fast doesn't mean you have to drive it fast. i'd say go w/ the 2500 rms amp.
