Talking New Wheels Arrived

These new Mille Miglia Uno wheels just arrived, 18 inch by 8 inch wide..... I have not ordered tires yet because I am very concerned above feeling every bump in the road. As you all know, our gs300 has a fairly stiff suspension as it is....

The recommended tire size is 245/40 r18, to maintain correct odometer and speedometer readings. This would be a fairly stiff ride, I am told. I would like to install a 245/45 r18 OR a 245/50 r18 to soften the ride. I am not concerned about throwing the speedometer off as I can compensate, and am the only driver of my car.

My question to my Lexus friends is: Does anyone have one of these 2 alternate tire sizes on their car???? Is there sufficient clearance in the wheel well that I am not going to rub the wheel well if I hit a big bump???? I do not plan on lowering the Lex. The Tire Rack people are tight-lipped about giving me info about my questions. I think the wheels have a negative offset, but I do not know by how much.

Any info is appreciated

245/45 OR 50/ 18 is a rare tire so expect to pay more for those

i used to roll on 245/40/18 with the car lowered and it was cool...the wheel gap will eventually drive you crazy....

i think that the suspension is smooth rather than hard or stiff...

i mean you fell more bumps but its still pretty smoooth.. i have 19s now and it still floats..

if your gonna get a body kit go with 19s or 20s..those rims will look good but youre gonna want to drop it like its hot...

Default ride quality

I wouldn't worry about ride quality with that setup and once you see your wheels on the car, you will probably change your mind about not wanting to lower the car. Even with springs, the gap is a little bit on the big side.

I have a 19X9 19X10 setup and the car is lowered with the Eibach Pro Kit and it still rides great.

It appears to me that I have nothing to worry about. Thanks to both of you for the insight. It also appears that I'm not gonna be satisfied until I lower the ride also..... hmmm
