Default NEW PROJECT *ELIMINATE ROAD NOISE/vibration"

well. its winter and i got a new project that i've started. so far i've put about 5 hours into it and just getting started. I'm Raammating my entire trunk/4 doors/maybe roof/floor of my entire car. i have 2 rolls right now. each 62 sq feet of this great stuff. i'm planning to purchase a 3rd roll if needed. So far i have done a little more than half my trunk and i can tell you its a big different already. When i knock on the outside of my trunk it sound SOLID. no more pinging noise. I've gutted my entire trunk. taken out all the lining and everything down to bare metal. Its a fun project and i'll post pic when i'm done. i've only done the trunk but i can tell it has reduce a bit of road noise already. can't wait to do the doors and floor.

The first generation GS was built extremely well. Upon reading reviews of our model from other sites - people claim that the ride/road noise is too soft. They have compared it to being in a cocoon.

Maybe the road noise / vibration you are getting is a result of some aftermarket parts.

Personally, my 94' GS with 17 in. GS400 wheels runs smooth except for the wheel bearing that needs to be replaced.

Anyways, good luck with your project.

I agree with GSman300, you have done a lot of mods to your car that made it noisier (exhaust, intake, tires, etc.).

Anyways, hopefully your project helps you out and quiets things down. Keep us updated on your progress.

i'm not sure who told you that but my exterior mod is bone stock. i have no mods on the outside besides clear corners in front and clear turn signal in back. with limo tint all around. my car is VERY smooth and quiet. i just want it even MORE quiet. i also have very good tires. Michelin so i have no tire noise at all also.

Sounds like you want your car to be limo quiet. I hope it works out for you.

The one thing I totally dislike about the 1st Gen is the large gas tank in the trunk that takes up so much space. The 2nd Gen's gas tank is hidden somewhere so they don't have this problem. Have you thought of any places to relocate it?
