Default Anyone use PIAA lights or something similar!

Hi guys,

I am considering purchasing PIAA lights of my car. Are they lights legal (white lights)? Which wattage do you guys reccomend? ALso do you guys know of any brands other than Piaa that perform well?
Thanks

piaa's are way overrated. they are about 90 or so a pair and aren't that much better than stock. stock is 55w and the size is 9006. i wouldn't recomend going higher than 70w watts. even with a upgrade wire harness. the heat from the bulb will melt it. trust me i know. The first gen gs has terrible terrible lightput. its very dim and weak. main reason is because of our tectured headlight lens that most of the time turns yellow or even if its still clear its very thick. i'm actually getting a custom one done for my car made of acrylic. its going to be half the thickness of the stock one with the same durability. only way to improve lighting on the first gen gs would be to get HID's. Halogen just doesn't quiet cut it.

also you can remove the glare guard from the fog lights. increase light output by at least 30% and its free and takes about 30 minutes

I saw item # 1875281024 on ebay. What do you think of it? I want to experiment with this before I get some piaa's. I know that you said the best is to get a HID. I don't want to do that right now. thanks

i just checked it out. $6.49 . lol. you pay for what you get. it doesn't mention anywhere on the page what its wattage is. so i'm betting its pretty high and will melt your harness. also its probly got a thick layer of blue tint to create that white look. don't buy it. go to autozone or kragens and buy a pair of silvania silverstar i heard a lot of good things aobut them. they go for about 25 a piece.

Hey bro,

Yeah I read alot of stuff about how cheap lights don't work well. Your right what you pay for is what you get. Im saving up for a HID kit. When I get a HID kit, How much do those bulbs cost? What lights do you have on your car right now?
thanks

Default lights

hey what up: what year is yr car?
if you want to get hid kit, you'll spend about 400-500 bucks....not even including installation.

jmai22 and i have bmw 5-series projectors on ours....yup, it's a retrofit. we paid.........are you ready for this??......$700 which includes 2 projectors frm 5-series, ballasts, phillips bulbs (4100k), and all wiring harness. to make it even better, that price also includes installation and that person is located in so. cali. so, if you're insterested, check out his website: illusion-lighting.com

bmw 5-series projectors (e39) have better light output compared to our stock projectors on ur gs300. you know how bright the bmw lights are when you see one on your rear view mirror. from far, it looks blueish white.....but once the car gets close, it turns out really white....

save some money and do the retrofit........it's worth it!!
