Default autometer air/fuel gauge.

Hi guys,

I saw in an old post, indypwr put gauges into his car. ANyways, i love the way the air/fuel looks. Have any of you put in just the air/fuel gauge? If so where is an ideal spot without taking something out? I was planning on doing it on the left side, outside of the panel. If i have someone do the work for me, what am I looking to pay? thanks alot

please don't tell me your putting it againt the pillar (frame of fron windshield). that looks soo tacky. especially on a luxury car. if you have an aftermarket Headunit put it under there like indypwr. if not you can always remove the ashtray if you don't use that.

Default air/fuel gauge

dtpstyle:

what up, why dont you get another meter and have them sit below yr aftermarket radio.....if you got one?

get another meter like water temp or volt meter gauges...that way, it will look kind of busy....not by itself.

if you install only one meter at the pillar location, dont do it.
like jmai22 said, it will look tacky.....

heres another pic of my gauges........

Sup IndyPwr and JaMai,

Thanks for your guys' input. I was thinking about buying a single pod, mounter that they have on autometer.com. Was going to have it on the right side or possibly mouted on the side wall by my right thigh.

I just love the look of the air fuel. When i had my accord I didn't want to do it because i didn't use premium gas. Now for my lexus it uses premium and the air/fuel should be rich =).

I don't have an aftermarket head unit, stock 12 cd changer. IndyPwr, what did the gauges cost you?

Sup guys,

I live in Diamond Bar. I saw the New Autometer stuff, called Cobalt. Anyone know what the difference is? Or just the color?
thanks

Hey IndyPwr,

Im interested in your gauges. How long have you had them again? Also how long does it take for you to install them? Finally how much for installation? (is it fee =))

Thanks

2/3 of his gauges are easy. but the one he is really worried about is the water temp gauge. he told me he has to remove this part (forgot name) and drill a hole directly into the engine. then reinstall the part.

dtpstyle:

yeah, jmai22 is right. water temp gauge is really hard, dude. i had to drill on upper coolant jacket, the part that holds the upper radiator hose located on the engine, and that took so much time. you have to drill very carefully, apply little bit of oil while drilling cuz it might crack. anyways, i'll give you all my gauges fr $100 but you have to find someone to install the water temp gauge. i can do the air/fuel and volts......pretty easy!!

you have to decide first where to put the gauges. it will look really tacky if you install them on a pillar mount on driver side.
dont do it!!

Since you have the stock radio...as John already touched on, remove the ashtray and build a plate for the gauges there. You guys aren'tallowed to smoke in Cali anyway.
