Default about nitrous

hey guys, i've had some experience with spraying and i just wanted to let you guys who were wondering about purchasing the stuff on what i know based on my experiences. First off, I have a '97 sc400 with a nitrous express wet kit installed pumping a 100 shot. First myth: Unless you're as smart as a jar of mayo, it's not a big deal that you have to flip a switch to spray nitrous in the middle of a race. I have my switch mounted to the left of my steering wheel and trust me when i say it's really easy to flip the switch and maintain control of the car. Personally, I think nitrous is a good investment if you want a quick easy upgrade without needing to think about anything. The only thing is when you first get it, you have to learn to ween yourself off of the habit of spraying a lot because you only get roughly 12-15 sprays (a spray being spraying for roughly 10 seconds) until you have to refill the bottle. Not that that's really a problem: i mean for me to refill my 10 pound bottle it's only $20. Also I changed the jets so If you have a 75 shot you can probably get closer to 15 sprays. Anyways, hope some of this info is helpful to some of you guys. I know I love having the stuff and it's a ****load of fun haha.

what happens if you press the botton while at idle or at a low rpm?? also if it last 10 seconds, what if you use it then the light turns red. could you use the breaks to slow down or would the engine continue to rev?

nothing happens if you press the button at a low rpm or are idling. The nitrous is spraying, but it's not like you're suddenly gonna shoot forward if you're at a red light. The only time you move is when you have your foot down on the accelerator. And if you try to slow down while spraying, the car's gonna act normal, it won't keep going forward regardless if the button or switch is flipped. I've done all the worst things such as leave the switch on constantly by mistake and what-not so I can tell you that my car hasn't blown up or anything. The only problem is if you're accelerating and spraying because that's when your engine could blow if you spray for too long. I was told not to spray past 15 seconds or else kaboom.

i heard your piston can come flying through your hood. dunno if thats true or not. but too much of a risk for me

the only reason that might happen is if you were running a shot of too much nitrous for the car to be able to handle. Installing a fuel pump would cancel out this problem. Find out what your car is capable of and go from there
