Wink NOS it?? what do you think?

some people are just not satisfied enough when thy get next to you on the road nor freeway and start revving you up and you just sit there and do nothing about it, hesitant to race, especially like hondas, eclipse, even our fellow brothers gs300, is300 with damn turbo's nor supercharger and even the sc300/400 with someting to show off like their cars are super fast!!

i admit that a few times a got blown-by with this bmw 740....older model too and a newer gs300 (whatever he has under his hood). hey, at least i tried.......he.he.he

my point is, since i can't afford any turbo kit now and also i'm doing a paint job on my car, i wz thinking of purchasing a NOS wet kit from ZEX. what do you guys think of their NOS kits?
pllning to get the 50-75 shot wet system. it will costs around 450 and up. pretty easy to install, for me, cuz i used to drive an Acura Integra and installed a direct port NOS wet system. it takes a lot of time, though. gee, that wz back then when people get so excited when thy post a quarter mile run of 15's, 14's, and even 13's...especially on hondas. but of course, some people dont have much knowledge yet regarding turbo's/superchargers...stuff like that.

so, if i do get the NOS kit, hopefully it will give me some good runs, not quarter mile runs, and just have fun with the extra horsepower that can be delivered in "full throttle".

the kit that ZEX has is very safe, as thy mentioned but of course others are "skeptical", and can only be activated under full throttle with the compensation of our "tps" (throttle position sensor). accrdg to ZEX, thy have made it much safer compared to the old generation NOS kits out there. our motor, 2jz-ge, can handle up to 300hp + w/o any mods on bottom end like pistons, rods, piston rings, cranshaft, etc.,....
i'll try to find more infos about it.

anyways, i want to know what you guys think. 50-75 hp wont hurt........i just love and miss the feeling of having NOS in my car!!

wish me luck....i will post some pics later on.

here's the actual kit you will get from ZEX:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plug & Play Nitrous Performance:
All major components are contained in the ZEX™ "NMU", which means you won't have any unsightly solenoids or wiring.

Worlds Only "Smart" Nitrous System:
Uses actual bottle pressure to regulate the nitrous to fuel ratio, always optimizing the mix. Never too rich, never too lean!

Our nitrous kit only activates when you hit full throttle:
This means you can sit at the line with the system armed and your hands on the steering wheel. When you hit full throttle, the nitrous automatically kicks in, you don't have to fumble with switches and steering at the same time. When you let off the throttle, the nitrous shuts off. Our difference in approach results in more horsepower per nitrous used through all bottle pressures.

Zex Kits Include the following:
ZEX™ Nitrous Management Unit (Part #82007), U.S. Patent #5,967,099
The NMU is the brain of the nitrous kit. It hides the senosrs and solenoids to keep your engine compartment looking good.

ZEX™ 15amp Power Arming Switch With Cover (Part #82002)
Protective cover prevents accidental system arming
High quality steel toggle switch allows many years of trouble-free service

I've been around nitrous for a long time. As long as you do it right you should be fine. ZEX is okay also try Nitrous Express.

I'm still lost on how NOS actually kicks in.

I wouldn't opt for a NOS system becuase from what I've seen you have to activate a switch (not talking about fast and furious) before the NOS is sprayed. There's also a safety switch or something.

I'd prefer to have powerful acceleration ALL the time, and not need to hit a button in he heat of a race to get some boost. Can you just leave the NOS on / open all the time? So I could be sitting a light, or on the freeway and have strong engine performance.

It could be done, but it isn't the safest thing in the world and you would be refilling your bottle daily. A good solution for you would be a remote bottle opener. You hit a button and the bottle opens. This is for the bottle...not the system. Then you turn the system on. After that, there is no little red button. It is all in your foot. When you hit the gas HARD, it triggers the nitrous automatically.

PS...NOS is a brand name.

NOS is overrated...

you need one of these!

Mini Nitrous !!

just look at this setup

and its all justified in writing...just look...

>snip<
Conventional Nitrous Oxide Systems
- Dangerously large amounts of NO2 sprayed to damage engine
- NO2 mixed with Sulfur Dioxide
- 90% of system comprised of useless electronics
- Huge 100 lb. bottles
- Hundreds to refill bottle when empty
- Reassemble entire nitrous oxide system when taking out bottle to get it refilled
- Highly flammable and dangerous
- Needs to be professionally installed, very expensive
- Costs anywhere between $700-$4000

Our Nitrous Oxide System
- Small doses to prevent engine damage
- 100% pure Nitrous Oxide, no cheap additives
- No electronics, to be able to sell our kit affordably
- Disposable tiny cartridges
- Throw out the cartridge
- Open the Injection Tube, take out the used cartridge, and throw it away!
- No sulfur dioxide! Not flammable!
- Installs in your driveway with a few simple tools!
- $99.99 plus FREE SHIPPING

>/snip<

Don't buy a system composed with 90% of USELESS electronics...buy one of these babies. I heard it adds on 500hp with one disposable cartridge  . Just watch the video...PROOF POSITIVE!!!

[/sarcasm]

ahahahahahahahahahaha

people are always discrediting NOS cause its "cheap" or not real engine pwr.......who cares i want as much power as I can get for the $$$ and NOS offers the best pwr to dollar ratio......plus nothings more adrenaline pumping than hitting that button...I don't have it on my lex yet but I had it on my Max and was very pleased with it.....I say its your money, use it safely and go for it.

I was thinking about a similar ZEX kit for my Mustang GT before I sold it. They seem to be a good set up, for the price. However, before you put that in you need to realize that even with the kit you'll be blow away by a lot of cars, and speed is addictive, so be prepared to shell out some serious cash to go fast. I would not start to play unless you're prepared to pay. Just my $.02.

there are some nitrous companies like TNT that allow to to set it up so that once the car hits a certain rpm the nitrous turns on and then it turns off once you hit another certain rpm. You can do multiple stages too.

Quick Reply: NOS it?? what do you think?
