Strange that the needles would be in that position when the car is completely off.

I have a related problem. My gas and speedo needle read too low, and the temp needle shows high, even when the car is dead cold. I now the previous owner was messing with the dash needles. there's a chance he put them back on wrong.

The GS needles only go on 1 way so shouldn't be on wrong. Most likely a gauge issue. Contact lextreme.org and ask them. The repair all Lexus gauges.
