Ok, has anyone ever replaced the trunk struts?? If I don't figure this out by Monday, I'm going to use a grinder and I'm removing them the hard way. Is there any other way to do it?? Please let me know!!!! Thanks!!!

There is a small spring clip in the "head" of the strut where it mounts on the "ball" you have to pry that clip out with a small screwdriver. I used a 1/16 inch titanium jewler's screwdriver, but you can sacrifice a cheap one if you want. Once the clip is out they come right off. Hope this helps.

I wish it were that simple. This one doesn't have clips at all. The replacements I have do have the clips. But thanks anyways.

The clips are small and are molded into the plastic ball. They are almost completely "closed" C-clips. they are difficult to see. If they are original Lexus they do have clips... Off brands, I do not know.
